Where can I go for advice and testing?

You can go to a doctor in any medical practice for a chlamydia test. The chlamydia test is free so you will not have any cost if the doctor bulk bills (ie does not charge anything over what the government pays them). You need a medicare card to go to a doctor. Click here for further information on medicare cards.

If you do not have a medicare card and don't think you can afford the antibiotics to treat chlamydia (approx $22) then you can get free testing and treatment without a medicare card at sexual health clinics. The two clinics in the Northern Sydney region are

Clinic 16, entrance located off Herbert St, diagonally opposite St Leonards train station. It is on the campus of Royal North Shore Hospital. For an appointment call 02 9926 7414. Click here for a map.

Manly Sexual Health located at 8/18 Whistler St, Manly (next door to the tattoo shop) Phone 02 9977 3288 for an appointment. Click here for a map

For more information you can also call the FPA Healthline on 1300 658 886 and talk to someone over the phone.
